14 Supermodel

So it was the first day of school, my last day working in the office, and perhaps the start of my modeling career.  The first week back to school is always a nightmare every year.  Everyone drives aggressively, honking and screaming at people.  I don’t really understand this because class will be there ALL semester, so it’s not like you will miss your one and only chance to listen to the lecture.  And if you are going to miss a class, the first one is the best, because you only really talk about the syllabus.  The cops stand out in the streets, pretending that they are helping direct traffic, when really, I swear, they just make it more complicated.  I walked in today and saw two girls holding hands, and literally running with giant backpacks up to University Hall.  I guess the hand holding was to knock out anyone that stood in their way.

It was my last day working in the office, and I am going to miss having that spot right at the front door to direct crazy/lost people.  Ami and Robin handle most of the looney callers, but occasionally when they were busy, I get to deal with one.  Today, this girl ran in with glazed eyes and asked if she could use my phone because she couldn’t hear on her phone.  She claimed it was an emergency and she looked distraught so I told her she could sit next to me and use mine.  So she tries, and tries, and it doesn’t work.  Then I try and it doesn’t work.  Somehow she cursed my phone…and while all this was going on, she told me that she had to call her lawyer because her ex boyfriend (who is in jail) has her daughter (who is living with his new girlfriend).  The new girlfriend accused her of bulgary, which she claimed she didn’t do because she reassured me over and over that she was a good person.  Maybe it was fate that my phone stopped working for those few minutes, but I appreciated the universe dropping the crazy girl with the meth teeth in my lap.

So after fighting with EPIC (the stupidest platform program ever created to torture online history coaches) for the rest of the day, I really thought I was going to go home and scream into the floor and have kitty wipe up my tears.  But then!  Something magical happened!  Brandy from Bellapop Photography wrote a blog all about me!  (Glows)  She and her husband invited me to be a model for a photo workshop class last Sunday and now the pictures are up.  It was one of the most fun things I have ever done.  Even though my legs were sweating all over the place, the pictures looked so great!  And I am not usually like “Ooh that picture makes me look like a movie star!”  but these really do.  All of the photographers were so talented and nice.  Thank you gals and guys!  They posed me all around the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth.  I even laid in the grass with exploding balloons.  For some reason, my hair made the balloons explode.  I know that it was hot, blah blah blah, but I would like to think I have superpowers and shoot exploding rays out of my brain!   I can also now add that I have been naked inside the statue in front of the museum when I was changing outfits.  So if you hang out with me and we play the I have never game….you know how to beat me!  Two other photographers put up their shots so you should check them out.  Lucinda May from Paw Prints Photography blogged about me too!  She took the awesome photos of Kitty and now she took great shots of me.  She even climbed up on a pillar to get the shot.  And Vanessa from Del Pino Photography blogged about the night too!  She got some really great shots.  If you live in DFW, you have the chance to work with great photographers for all kinds of events!  DO IT!

Doors open and doors close.  I’m going to miss the office staff, I’m excited to read new student essays, and maybe kitty and I can be models and travel the world.  Bring it on September.  I’m ready.

Thanks Daenel!
I actually live in Euless, which is not exactly the most happening place in the metroplex. But it is true that Dallas, Fort Worth and Arlington are all about a 30 minute drive. Thanks for the comments :)

And Molly, I don’t know why it didn’t post your comment? Weird, but your pictures are awesome too! I’ll link you on my page.
